About

Ashley is passionate about helping children find healing through mindfulness activities such as therapeutic art activities, public performance and emotional expression, yoga, music, reading, crafting, and getting out into nature with trust and team building exercises. She found a need in the juvenile justice system for alternatives to detention, and decided that all youth could benefit from these healing heart to heart expressions.

After opening up an art and yoga studio to foster creativity, meditation, health, and mindfulness, she started this blog to bring helpful tips and information to more communities and youth and to share her story in hopes of resonating with her audience. Today, she is a single mom of three, a dabbling part-time lawyer, an avid painter, children's yoga instructor, meditation and mindfulness and positive psychology practitioner, and a youth organization leader. She hopes to bring inspiration to families and youth to spread internal awareness and bring healing to those exposed to trauma, limited income barriers, violence, and

other forms of abuse and suffering.

What Is Integration and Why Awareness Alone Is Not Enough
Awareness says, “I see the pattern.” Integration says, “I can relate to this pattern differently while it is happening.” That shift is where personal growth becomes real. It moves from insight in your mind to choice in your nervous system, behavior, relationships, and daily life. The difference is subtle but powerful. Awareness identifies the pattern. Integration changes your relationship with the pattern.

How to Calm Your Nervous System When Overwhelmed
A calmer nervous system is built through repetition. Each pause teaches your body that urgency does not have to lead. Each grounded choice becomes evidence that you can stay with yourself when things feel hard. You do not need to master this today. Start here: Pause. Resist three immediate urges. Take one calmer breath. Make one grounded choice. Then see how your life begins to change, one quiet moment at a time.
