Our mission is to remove barriers to healing by creating accessible opportunities for individuals, children, families, schools, and communities to experience education, creativity, connection, and personal growth—regardless of their financial circumstances.
We believe healing shouldn't be reserved for those who can afford it.
It should be available to anyone willing to take the first step.

Our Vision
Healing Hearts Haven is designed to become a place where prevention and restoration exist side by side.
A place where young people don't simply receive services.
They discover purpose.
They build confidence.
They contribute.
They belong.
Our long-term vision includes a community campus where children, teens, families, educators, and organizations can gather to learn, create, heal, and grow together.
Rather than asking, "What's wrong with this child?"
We ask,
"What strengths can we help them discover?"

A Different Kind of Juvenile Diversion
The juvenile justice system often sees young people after poor choices have already been made.
We want to meet them much earlier, and offer meaningful opportunities to change direction.
The Healing Hearts Foundation supports the development of innovative diversion initiatives that help youth build responsibility, confidence, and practical life skills through connection rather than punishment alone.
Imagine a teenager completing community service by helping care for gardens, assisting in the campus café, supporting community events, creating artwork, mentoring younger children, or learning employable skills alongside caring adults.
Imagine restorative opportunities that teach accountability while also building confidence, purpose, and belonging, because accountability and hope are not opposites; they grow best together.
OUR MISSION
Across South Dakota, and throughout our nation, families, schools, and communities are facing increasing challenges.
Youth are struggling with anxiety, isolation, behavioral concerns, substance use, school disengagement, family conflict, and a growing lack of healthy community connection.
Teachers are carrying more.
Parents are exhausted.
Communities are asking difficult questions.
Too often, intervention begins only after a young person has reached a breaking point.
We believe there is another way.​​​​

NEED A SPONSORSHIP?
Every Child Deserves the Opportunity to Grow
Healing Hearts Haven believes financial circumstances should never be the reason a child or family misses the opportunity to learn, create, heal, and belong.
Through the generosity of our donors and community partners, the Healing Hearts Haven Foundation provides need-based sponsorships that help remove financial barriers for qualifying participants.
Scholarship funds may be applied toward eligible Healing Hearts Haven experiences, including:

Select Healing Hearts Haven Events
WHO MAY APPLY?
Scholarship applications are welcome from individuals and families experiencing financial hardship or circumstances that would otherwise prevent participation.
Applications are reviewed with compassion and confidentiality, taking into consideration both demonstrated need and the availability of Foundation funding.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
If scholarship funds are available and your application qualifies, the Foundation may cover all or a portion of the cost of eligible Healing Hearts Haven programs and experiences:

Community Scholarship – Covers up to 50% of eligible program costs.

Hope Scholarship – Covers up to 75% of eligible program costs.

Full Foundation Scholarship – Covers 100% of eligible program costs when financial hardship and available funding warrant full assistance.
There is no limit to the number of times you may apply. Families are encouraged to reapply whenever financial assistance is needed. Each application is reviewed individually, with priority given to those experiencing the greatest current need and based on available Foundation resources.
To ensure that scholarship funding can serve as many families as possible, each participant may receive up to $1,000 in Foundation sponsorship assistance before submitting a new application for continued consideration.
Additional sponsorship may be awarded based on demonstrated need, available funding, and the Foundation's ability to serve all applicants equitably.
