Product details
The Wishing Well is a large colorful oil art print on canvas that evokes the warmth, nostalgia, and quiet magic of rural life. Created by Ashley Morken under the mentorship of renowned South Dakota artist Margaret Schmidt, this exquisite work marks the artist’s second oil painting from her youth—a testament to her early mastery of light, color, and emotional depth.
Set amid a vibrant fall landscape, The Wishing Well blends golden leaves and russet tones with the soft greens of a peaceful pasture beyond. At the heart of the composition rests a weathered stone well with a shingled roof—an emblem of a bygone era when the simple act of gathering water symbolized community, hope, and renewal.
Ashley’s use of oil brings the scene to life with a gentle luminosity that seems to shimmer across the canvas, transforming a quiet countryside moment into something timeless and sacred. Perfect for wall and home décor, The Wishing Well captures the mystical essence of rural living—a place where memory, nature, and spirit flow together like water drawn from the earth itself.
