...BACK IN 2018

I was struggling with career burnout as a criminal law lawyer, full-time mother of four small children living in a rural area, and suffering from familial cutoffs due to unprocessed childhood abuse and chronic anxiety patterns, along with marital conflict bound by control and self-protection all at the same time.

I WAS A HIGH-FUNCTIONING ADULT SUFFERING SILENTLY WHILE INTERNALLY FALLING APART

I started to notice that I was crying and isolating a lot, and I was anxious and begging for others to help me in my discomfort without me having to express myself.

Couples therapy and coaching left me frustrated as many suggested that there just were no other options than for me to leave my marriage and cut off my family.  I didn't speak to my own mother or father for two years, and eventually divorced my ex-husband.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE PROBLEM; THAT THEY WERE BETTER OFF WITHOUT ME, AND IF I JUST REMOVED MYSELF THE CONFLICT WOULD DISAPPEAR.

I realized that wherever I went, there I was. I carried my anxiety into other relationships, into mothering, and into my new career. Your patterns follow you until you notice.

I put myself through school and obtained a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy thinking I could help others therapeutically and navigate the legal system issues from a mental health lens.  However, I ran into more systemic blocks to healing and got caught up in the clinical diagnosis model that continued to try and fix symptoms and not regulate people through traumatic default patterns in real time.

I BECAME DISCOURAGED AND STRUGGLED WITH DEEP DEPRESSION THINKING I HAD RUINED MY LIFE BY LEAVING EVERYONE WHO LOVED ME AND A STABLE CAREER JUST TO LAND AS A STRUGGLING SINGLE MOM IN THE SAME SITUATION.

I wanted to abandon my desire to coach, go back to the law and everything that was familiar, because my nervous system said that would be easier. But, something deeper constantly pulled me forward, and nagged me until I paid attention. The Universe gave me a nudge...

...In 2023, my father was diagnosed with quickly-progressing Alzheimer's and I started speaking with my mother again.  Through a different approach to healing, we were able to begin sharing our stories and bond more deeply, find empathy, and share in sisterhood, motherhood, and womanhood.  I stayed through conflict and communication by seeing her through a different lens.

HEALING BEGAN WHEN I STOPPED JUDGING, CRITICIZING, AND DEFENDING, AND EMPATHIZED WITH THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS IN MY LIFE.

I began to shift from blame and accusation to questioning what caused others to respond in defense to me.

I
started staying long enough to remain curious and ask more questions. I listened more, talked less, and learned that others were just as afraid, they just expressed it differently.

Empathy comes in to help you realize you are not the only one 
fighting a battle, and others deserve grace too. When I stayed even when my body said run, I learned to trust a new pattern, and a new truth.

I finalized my divorce and realized that releasing control over the co-parenting process and focusing on how I mother my children and shape them on my own allowed me to heal from divorce and decide how I would do marriage in the future differently.

I AM NOW HAPPILY MARRIED AND ALTHOUGH THE RELATIONSHIP STILL STRUGGLES DUE TO PAST PATTERNS, WE STAY, WE PROCESS, AND WE COMMIT TO HEALING AND PUSHING THROUGH THE DISCOMFORT.

I started to notice that I was used to treating every miscommunication as a breeding ground for abandonment and my wounds came out to control my behavior.

I was bracing for my ultimate fear no matter how high or low the conflict rollercoaster went. I always felt in those moments that there was no recovery available. My nervous system kept me in survival mode.

When I started talking to myself differently and confronting my own patterns, I stayed through the discomfort and was able to regulate through
communication in real time. This is integration.

In 2025, I left fear behind, and started coaching full-time, helping from a lens that I had finally learned to integrate my healing.  I am, like most who venture into a life of self-healing, a work in progress.  I am happy in my career, my marriage, as a mother, and am creatively living a full and abundant life.

I CAN TEACH IT BECAUSE I LIVED IT AND I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH.

I realized for a long time I was stuck in the understanding myself phase and the frustration of not seeing real-life change in my relationships.

Until I did . . .and it was magic.
And
I thought:
What if I could teach others how to do this too?  
What if I could hear others say, "Oh, I don't do that anymore."
